New Eye-Opening Documentary Delves into the Alarming Rise of Teen Vaping in NC

Gen V: Teen Vaping in North Carolina, a documentary from NC-based news outlet WRAL, features Duke-UNC TTS founding director Dr. Adam Goldstein

Duke-UNC TTS founding director Dr. Adam Goldstein and other researchers from the UNC Tobacco Intervention Programs are featured in a new WRAL TV documentary, “Gen V: Teen Vaping in North Carolina." This 20-minute documentary explores the alarming rise of teen vaping in NC, focusing on why youth are vaping in record numbers, how they are obtaining vaping products, and why some say the recently-passed vaping registry bill in NC won't effectively address this problem.

The documentary also features Tobacco Prevention and Evaluation Program Director Leah Ranney, PhD, MA; former UNC Tobacco Treatment Program social worker and Duke-UNC TTS presenter Charlie Sapp, LCSW, LCAS, MSW; Ray Riordan, formerly with the NC Department of Health and Human Services; and Oak Avary, a patient of the UNC Tobacco Treatment Program.

The documentary first aired on Thursday, September 26th at 7:30pm on WRAL and wraldoc.com. The documentary is available to watch free of charge on YouTube.
