This course is designed for Fellows, Medical Students, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Pharmacists, and Residents to effectively care for pregnant and postpartum patients who use tobacco. Participants will learn to assess risks, counsel on health harms, and apply evidence-based behavioral and pharmacologic treatments—including strategies for relapse prevention and secondhand smoke education.

This course is designed for both healthcare and non-healthcare professionals--including school administrators and counselors--who would like an overview of the problem of tobacco use among young people and practical strategies to reduce use and prevent tobacco use initiation among these vulnerable populations.

This course provides foundational knowledge on mindfulness and other behavioral Interventions for the treatment of tobacco use disorder. It is ideal for psychologists, social workers, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, educators, and others interested in learning behavioral approaches for tobacco treatment.
