CANCELLATION POLICY

The following outlines the cancellation and refund policy for all registration fees associated with the Duke – UNC Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training Program.

More than 30 days from the start date: If a registration is cancelled more than 30 business days before the start date of the program, the participant will be charged a $50 cancellation fee and will either be granted a refund for remainder of the registration fees or will have the option to transfer the amount paid less cancellation fee towards a future training. In the event that a future training has a higher registration fee, the participant will be responsible for covering the difference in cost.

Within 30 days of the start date: If a registration is cancelled within 30 days of the start date of the program, the participant will be charged a $100 cancellation fee and will either be granted a refund for the remainder of the registration fees or will have the option to transfer the amount paid less cancellation fee towards a future training. In the event that a future training has a higher registration fee, the participant will be responsible for covering the difference in cost.

Within 7 days of the start date or no shows: If a registration is cancelled within 7 days of the start date of the program or if the participant does not attend the training, no refund will be granted. Additionally, no transfers to future trainings will be allowed. 

 

Note about Substitutions: Substitutions must be approved by a course director. There will be a $50 fee charged for each substitution.

GRIEVANCE POLICY

We thank you for your participation in the Duke-UNC Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training Program. We are committed to providing a safe and comfortable educational environment and learning experience for all individuals.

This policy outlines the process to aid resolution of any conflicts and disagreements that may arise among individuals in the Duke-UNC Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training Program. This policy extends to include concerns and any grievances regarding registration, training, learning environment, trainers, co-trainees, certification, or recertification.

Procedure for Grievance

Individuals who feel there has been any inappropriate action taken by faculty, students, or event coordinators may submit complaints or file grievance with the program’s operations director within 30 calendar days of the completion of the 4-day course.

You will receive a receipt of filed grievance within 72 hours. Every effort will be made to expedite resolution of conflict; however, based on the nature of the grievance, there may be additional investigation required, which can take up to 14 business days following receipt of grievance.

If satisfactory resolution is not reached, you will have 30 days to appeal in writing to the below representatives from the two institutions.
